My lab seeks to understand how plants synthesize specialized metabolites with medicinal or agricultural use, with the hope of eventually engineering their biosynthesis into model organisms and crops. We use a combination of metabolomics, transcriptomics, and rapid enzyme-testing in a model plant to discover and build complex biosynthetic pathways.
